Fiber Artist Rose Hughes

Fantastic Fiber Artist & Friend, Rose Hughes

Fiber Artist Rose Hughes and I have spent a lot of time together since she moved to Paducah. A number of years ago she put her corporate job behind her and decided to plant herself and her quilting business in Paducah, Ky., a place where she could be free to create and be inspired by other quilters and fiber artists who have also chosen to make this western Kentucky community their home.

She has no regrets! Today she spends time teaching online workshops, traveling for an occasional workshop to be taught in various places around the country, including teaching quilting workshops at Ephemera Paducah from time to time, and writing a line of quilting books. If you’re a quilter, you’re probably already familiar with her Fast-Piece Applique technique and the books she’s written to educate others on this innovative method she has developed.

Rose’s work can be found all over the world, and fortunately for Ephemera Paducah you can find it here! We’ve decided the “Tiffany Blue Walls” in the shop are the perfect background for Rose’s colorful art quilts. Pop in the shop during QuiltWeek and you’ll be able to admire them. And, you’ll be able to shop Rose’s books, supplies, and quilts. Meet Rose at this year’s Spring Artisan Market on Thursday, April 18, from 1 to 8 p.m.
