October 20-21, 2018 | 10 am – 4 pm each day
Price:$252 plus a $25 Supply Fee paid to the instructor at the start of class. Lunch, drinks, snacks are included
Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, strength, well-being, and wisdom, and when blown by the wind, spread goodwill and compassion.
Students will begin by making a variety of beautiful fabrics by applying different painting techniques with acrylic inks. Then they will create unique and personalized imagery on their fabric; printing with Thermofax screens, stamps and incorporating words and images using Judy’s unique printed Abaca tissue papers. The painted, printed and collaged fabrics will then be cropped for composition into flags, ready to be strung together for hanging.
Students should bring:
- One large plastic trash bag
- Rubber stamps, hand-carved stamps, foam or wood stamps
- Large paint palette that can hold separate colors of ink (disposable plastic plates, plastic deviled egg trays, or old muffin tins work great)
- Large container for rinse water
- Permanent black marker
- Scissors
- Rotary cutter
