A Smorgasbord – Watercolor, Zentangle, Mandalas, Oh MY!

Enjoy all three (3) classes or pick and choose! Most everything supplied!
Class sizes: Minimum 2; Maximum 16. No experience necessary. Minimum age to participate: 16

My friend Andrea’s coming to town!

She has all kind of mad skillz from owning her Shop & Studio, A Work of Heart in San Jose, CA. She’s offering up three (3) classes in one day! You can take this as one big fun creative Monday or, pick and choose the projects that are of most interest to you. (we’ll cut you deal if you sign up for the whole thing, though!)

Each time class is 2.5 hours and you’ll leave with a finished project or parts & papers to use in your own artwork.

Introduction to Zentangle: 9:00 AM – 11:30 pm

The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being.

Your class fee includes 1 pen, paper stump, pencil, and 3 paper tiles.

Mandala Journal: 12:00 – 2:30 pm

Andrea will guide you through the process of creating your own hand-drawn mandala on the cover of a simple pre-made sketchbook. We will be working with white ink and charcoal pencil to give your piece a simple and stunningly beautiful effect. Some Zentangle knowledge helpful but not required. You will be provided a handout with lots of patterns to pick from as you create your own unique piece.

Extra supplies are available for purchase after class because I guarantee you won’t want to stop at just one!

Abstract Mini Watercolor Journal: 3:00 – 5:30 pm

In this workshop, we will explore the properties of watercolor as we play with color and pattern. Your master sheet(s) will then be folded, cut and glued into mini(4×4) journals and slipped into a handmade hardcover.

Come empty handed, we will provide artist quality watercolors, paper, and brush. All supplies are available for purchase in the shop should you wish to continue to create at home.

Your finished project is the perfect place to add quotes, hand lettering, Zentangle patterns or anything you like!

Students should bring:

• Your Art Journal or place to take notes and swipe excess paint
• Favorite pens for scribbling, doodling, and embellishing

Take all three (3) classes and save!!!
