Needle Felting Workshop
July 22, 2017
5:00 am - 8:30 am
Class size: Minimum 4, Maximum 10; Minimum age to participate 14
Sara Renzulli’s butterfly/moth tutorial is a perfect little summer project. Patience will guide you step by step as you learn or hone armature skills, wrapping, blending, and shaping. If you are already a dedicated (addicted) needle felter this is a fabulous way to turn your bits and pieces of leftover wool into a special hostess gift or a heartfelt (get it – heartFELT) treasure. If you are brand new to needle felting this is a perfect chance to become a dedicated (addicted) felter.
For those unfamiliar, needle felting is a very tactile and fairly forgivable art form. According to Wikipedia, it is a method of creating felted objects without using water. The special needles used to make 3D sculpture, jewelry, adornments and 2D art have notches along the shaft of the needle that catch fibers and tangle them with other fibers to produce felt. As Patience says in class, “you stab things to life!”
Everything is provided for this class, but you are welcome to bring your own tools.
