Join us for some quick, easy, and fun holiday crafts during our Makers Holiday Escape. You can sign up for just the class(es) you desire without taking part in the Makers Escape (read all about that here). Or, if you are participating in the Escape, take a breather from what you bring to work on and take home a Christmas craft or two. The minimum age to participate is 18. Registration is below!

Here’s the lineup:

Monday, December 13, 1-3:30 pm – Christmas Card and Tag Bar

You’ll receive a stack of 10 cards & envelopes, 10 tags, & a glue stick. And then….you will dive into the Ephemera Paducah stash of holiday trims, papers, an overwhelming amount of rubber stamps, stamp pads, painted papers, die-cuts, and whatever else we can pull from behind the magic curtains. For 2.5 hours you can create to your heart’s desire. If you finish those cards and tags, additional packs will be available for purchase. Kristin will be available to help you make decisions and show you a few tricks.

Tuesday, December 14, 1-3:30 pm – English Paper Piecing Ornaments

Join Rene as she leads you down the rabbit hole of her newest obsession – English Paper Piecing! If you have a small basic sewing kit, bring it, otherwise, just show up. Minimal hand-sewing skills are needed but just barely minimum!

We have tons of lovely holiday fabrics to choose from for your project. Rene will lead you through step-by-step as you stitch your pieces together. You’ll have the choice of either hand sewing or gluing your stars to the backing felt for the final step. After a couple of hours to get the hang of it, you’ll be making these beautiful ornaments at home!

Wednesday, December 15, 2:30-5 pm – Scrappy Wrapped Ornaments

Valerie has discovered a new way to repurpose tennis balls! You’ll leave with three stunning orbs using chiffon sari ribbon as your wrap. We’ll supply the sari ribbon, thread, needles, beads, and a ribbon hanger to adorn your lovely ornaments. You’ll wrap three balls, and if you don’t finish embellishing, you’ll leave with the supplies to do that at home. Easy Peasy and Oh-So-Addictive, these ornaments will complement any tree or look great as a home decor item hanging out in a beautiful bowl. The possibilities!

Thursday, December 16, 5-8 pm – Kitschy Christmas Shadowbox

Kristin loves the Christmas Kitsch. The tacky wild colors, glitter, and absurd little creatures. Her stash of kitschy parts has gotten to an ahem, out-of-control status (we emptied out the shed). Spend an evening creating a delightful Christmas scene using a cigar box as a base. You’ll dig through the stash for flocked trees, winsome Santas, all sizes of ornaments, possibly a dinosaur or two, and God-Knows-What-Else. Everything is supplied for this workshop, but if you have a stash at home you’d like to incorporate – bring it! The dollar bin at Target had great stuff in mid-November. Come embrace the gaudiness of the holiday and create a home decor item, or gift, that will make everyone smile. Everything is supplied.

Saturday, December 18, 10 am-12:30 pm – Vintage Scrap Quilt Ornaments

Valerie has created a lovely Christmas Ornament project that will warm your heart with something that used to warm your toes! I found an old quilt cut up into large squares on one of my junking runs. She spied them in the Studio and ran with the idea to create beautiful homespun ornaments. Each person will receive a square large enough to accommodate cutting out three (3) ornaments, pattern supplied. Valerie will lead you through some simple stitching, beading, stamping, and adding a ribbon hanger. Everything is supplied and very minimal sewing skills are needed. Just the very basics. Perfect for gifting or to make a wrapped package even more special, You’ll love these!

HO! HO! HO! CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU THERE!
