Collage your Pup! (or Kitten or Fish)

Class size: Minimum 4; Maximum 12.  Minimum age to participate: 18 

Price: $135  which includes all supplies for two (2) 8″ x 10″ panels, lunch, drinks & snacks!

Pet people – what would we do without our dogs & cats???? We love our furry companions, fur-babies, companion animals–so many ways to describe them.

Because we adore them, why not create some art using their beautiful headshots as inspiration? We will employ a variety of techniques resulting in the creation of two (2) collages on 8″ x 10″ wood panels. My daughter-in-law created the Buddy Boy to the right as a Christmas present for my son this year. And, I created the TeeJay portraits for my husband a few years ago. They make wonderful gifts and the holidays are around the corner!

Once you prep the background with stencils, tissue paper, and ephemera, you will glue the headshot of your favorite furry friend to your board. With some special painting and collage techniques, your piece will come to life. The last step of pouring resin will seal the deal! 

Your registration fee includes a pizza & salad lunch. You are welcome to brown bag it, as well.

Because of the drying time needed for the resin, you will not be able to take your piece with you at the end of class Saturday. However, we will schedule a pick-up time on Sunday morning. Or, we can arrange to ship before you head home or pick-up later in the week during regular shop hours.

I will email you to remind you, but at least 5 days before the class, you will need to email me, Kristin 3-4 jpeg photos of your subject matter. These need to be headshots that fit well in the 8″ x 10″ format. We will cut around the heads of the images before adhering it to your collaged background. The more contrast the better! If you have questions, feel free to share some photos for feedback before deciding upon your favorites.
